Spiritual growth happens in small steps.

When God saves us through our faith in Jesus, he “justifies” us by declaring that we are forgiven and counted righteous before Him. But that’s just the first step in the life of faith.

The Bible refers to our ongoing spiritual growth as “sanctification”— the process of becoming more and more like Jesus in what we think, feel, and do. Whereas justification is one-and-done, sanctification takes a lifetime. While sanctification is empowered and completed by the Holy Spirit living in us, God uses our effort in the process us as we make conscious decisions to walk by the Spirit, align our desires with God’s desires, and honor His Word in our attitudes, actions, and speech.

Which means no matter where you are in your spiritual journey, if there’s breath in your lungs, you have a step you can take to grow in your faith!
